When A Vow Is Made To God

Preacher: Sis. Josephine Laureles / Recorded Live: November 19, 2009

A vow is making a promised voluntary commitment.

Through out the Bible, God has worked mighty miracles when people had made and fulfill their vows to Him. Usually, these vows were made when these great men faced a difficult challenge in their lives and there were many Biblical accounts where God shows His mercy through these vows.

If God favor those who make a commitment to Him, why is it that we seldom make a vow of our own? When was the last time have you heard someone making a vow to God? Why are we nowadays reluctrant to make such commitment to God?

Read Psalm 76:11 [here] and listen to the sermon as it challenges us to make and fulfill a vow of our own to God. Just make sure to abide by it if you do make a one.

Find the Perfect Will of God

Preacher: Ptr. Martin Waduge / Recorded Live: November 13, 2009

Living in a fast faced world, everyone must live up to the demands of having the the ability to do multi-tasks all at the same time. People always want to get the most out of their precious time. This only substantiate our desire to maximize our productivity in all aspects of our lives : financial, educational, social etc.

But as a Christian, have we ever consider taking full advantage of our spiritual wealth here on earth and in heaven? Have we ever ponder on how we can invest in life to fully utilize the benefits from God's plan for our lives which He had laid for us?

Read Romans 12:2 [here] and listen to the sermon as it reveals to us the 12 questions we can ask to ourselves in unraveling God's perfect will to our lives.

Confessing the Lord

Preacher: Sis. Evelyn Balocating / Recorded Live: November 12, 2009

Confession is giving a detailed account of any relevant past behavior that may include events, places, items and people that we came across in our lives.

God instructed us to confess and acknowledge that Jesus Christ will always be the Lord of our lives. We should not hide our faith but should publicly confess it. We can do this as soon as we accept Him to be our Lord and Savior. As a Christian, the confessions of our lips must agree with the conduct of our lives. But are we confessing the Lord?

Read Romans 10:9-10 [here] and listen to the sermon as it imparts to us 5 things we need to know about confession.

Breaking the Yoke

Preacher: Ptr. Roman Gumiran / Recorded Live: November 5, 2009

A yoke is a wooden beam which is used between a pair of oxen to allow them to pull a load (oxen almost always work in pairs). There are several types, used in different cultures, and for different types of oxen. A pair of oxen is also called a yoke of oxen, and yoke is also used as a verb: "to yoke a pair of oxen".

'Yoke' is a frequent metaphor in the Old Testament and it usually relates to slavery or having to carry a heavy burden on our shoulders. In our Christian lives, we are created to live in eternity and be victorious over the world. But for some of us, we are burdened with our own yoke from the past that hinders us to stand free in the presence of God without any condemnation.

Read Galatians 5:1 [here] and listen to the sermon as it imparts the Biblical principles on how we can break the yoke in our lives so that we can walk freely in the presence of God.

Ambition

In our childhood, we were often ask what is our ambition in life when we grow up? That ambition since our childhood tends to change and gets more specific as we mature and grow older. All of us have our own ambition- it may be something that we aspire to be or something that we wanted to have.

This ambition motivates us to strive to do our best in order to fulfill it and benefit us for the betterment of our lives. However, not all of us have the oppurtunity to fulfill these ambitions. What about you, had you already accomplish your ambition?

Read John 10:10 [here] and listen to the sermon as it reveals to us the relevance of ambition in our Christian lives.

Why Me Lord?

Preacher : Bro. Leo Ladica / Recorded Live: October 29, 2009

This we repeatedly ask God everytime we are in despair during our times of sufferings from difficult tests and trials in our lives. Sadly, it is at this point when many of us had fallen away from the presence of God eventhough we knew that these sufferings are only meant to test our faith in God.

However, have we ask God the same question when we are overjoyed and filled with His blessings? Have we ever thought the things that make us worthy to receive His blessings?

Read Psalms 8:1-8 [here] and listen to the sermon as it reminds us about the goodness of God as He continues to shower us with His blessings from the floodgates of His kingdom in heaven.
